It was WAY up. Totals without am or pm reference were pm (noon to 4:30). 25 total migrating raptors, plus the local eagles which weren't. Other birds: im. Red-headed Woodpecker, 2 Pileated, tons of blue jays trying to work their courage up to cross the water 2 or 3 Tree Swallows, 1 or 2 Chimney Swifts. Numerous Turkey Vultures and a couple of Black Vultures; one of the TV's was observed flying SE from the point to the Delmarva Peninsula (wait 'til it sees the pelagic trip it'll have to take from Cape Charles in Virginia!) Didn't count the vultures or jays; most of them were milling around indecisively and sightings were probably mostly repeats of the same befuddled birds. Morning rain squashed observation of songbirds such as warblers etc. Weather: SW wind & rain 'til noon. NW Wind and partly sunny pm. Observers am: Scott Crabtree and Elise Kreiss, 8:30 am - noon pm: Pete Webb, 12 noon - 4:30 pm, Parke John 2:30 - 4 pm. 8 hours total observing time. Re "dull day at Hart-Miller" - one of your Royal Terns flew across Conowingo Dam while I drove across it about 11 am.
