MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi Folks, I've made it a point to visit the Greenbridge access to Triadelphia Reservoir following every change in weather, to see what the wind blows in. It has blown in a lot this fall, and today's weather system was no exception. As has already been reported, an AMERICAN AVOCET was present today, along with DUNLIN, WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER, STILT SANDPIPER, and a flyover MERLIN. I was there for two hours this afternoon, along with other members of the Howard Co. Bird Club, and during that time the scenery was constantly shifting, with some birds leaving, and others arriving. The tally from 2 to 4 p.m.: Osprey--2 Bald Eagle--2 adults and 1 juv. Merlin--1 flying across the lake and almost over our heads Killdeer--1 American Avocet--1, present since this a.m., still there when we left Least Sandpiper--3 White-rumped Sandpiper--2 Pectoral Sandpiper--6, numbers increased during afternoon Dunlin--1, arrived while we were there Stilt Sandpiper--1, departed while we were there An earlier visit to Fulton Pond produced: Killdeer--13 Greater Yellowlegs--1 Pectoral Sandpiper--1 A dawn walk along the Patapsco River at Henryton this morning produced: E. Screech Owl--1 Winter Wren--2 Golden-crowned Kinglet--5 And at Alpha Ridge park later in the morning: Red-shouldered Hawk--1 Warbling Vireo--1 Ruby-crowned Kinglet--1 Yellow-rumped Warbler--6 Common Yellowthroat--1 The only sparrows seen there were one swamp, two song, and one white-throat.
