There have been, I believe, a number of Baltimore Orioles since then but apparently not in Ireland. Ireland was graced, last year, by a Blue-winged Warbler which attracted twitchers from all over. Quite a few American passerines make it to the British Isles in the autumn -- some friends of ours had a Black-and_white Warbler in their garden in Sussex aabout three years ago, and it was one of three that autumn in the UK. What is particularly interesting is that on the Scillies (one of the best-watched migrant traps in the UK in autumn) birders can chase -- on the same day -- vagrants from North America and those from Siberia! It makes you wonder how they manage to arrive at the same time from opposite directions!
