The watch began in 1994. A total of 328 raptors, and a THREE FALCON DAY, over 7.5 count hours at the point today, SE winds on what was almost certainly an historical high count day, barring the 1,494 Broadwinged in Sept. of 1999. Early in the morning it did not look promising, only 7 raptors between 8:30 and 9, maybe 2x that between 9 and 10, then the fun started in earnest. Charlie Gant commented early on that he wondered what was holding the buteos up this year, and the skies opened up!!! I think he went home a happy man. Every time we looked up to get on some new buteos, we caught more Sharpies sneaking through high up. I know I`m happy with this count!! Counters C. Gant, T. Raub, P. Valdata, L. Fisher and Candi Lee.
