On closer observation the target was a SCREECH OWL. It was next to the trunk of a tree in a pile of vines and looked lost. There was also a GREAT EGRET, GREATER YELLOWLEGS, BUFFELHEAD, and RUDDY DUCKS on the lake. Later in the afternoon I joined Stan Arnold for a ride to Greenbridge rd. at Triadelphia res. The highlights were a COMMON LOON singing down the lake. Also a BALD EAGLE, KINGFISHER, and BUFFLEHEADS. On the walk in was a WINTER WREN acting mouse like in the leaves. We also stopped at Meadowridge park and ride. Sparrows seen were ,LINCOLNS, SONG, SWAMP, FIELD, WHITE THROATED, WHITE CROWNED, and JUNCO. John Maloney Laurel ,Md. Ho.
