He was actively feeding on rose-hips, allowing fairly close approach. In the south fields were at least 4 Fox Sparrows. On Sunday November 4, at the north end of Lake Needwood, I found, along with all the regular sparrows, a single Savannah and a single Fox sparrow. At the farm-pond on Sundown Rd. in Sunshine, I had a very lovely adult White-crowned Sparrow. Lake Needwood had a single Ring-necked Duck, about a dozen Ruddy Ducks, about the same for A. Wigeons, and a pair of Hooded Mergansers, Red-tailed and Red-shouldered Hawks, Cooper's and Sharp-shinned Hawks, Great-Blue Heron, B. Kingfishers, all the woodpeckers except Red-headed.
