They were across from the Lehigh Cement towers on the rocks below the seawall. They were beautiful in the morning sunlight! I was able to get within @15 feet of them and they continued to feed on the rocks while regarding my presence. Scott, the ranger in the visitors center, was very enthusiastic and helpful in locating the birds. He knew where they had been last night and earlier this morning and fully appreciated the fact that they were an unusual occurrence in the area. He was also excited about the earlier sighting of the Great White Heron. It was a lovely way to start the day--beautiful birds, a gorgeous morning and a friendly ranger with a field guide in his pocket!
