Also wanted to see the regulars since I haven't seen much of them since the end of September :). Fortunately or unfortunately a MERLIN buzzed in looking for breakfast. Made the activity at the feeding stations a bit slow. Later in the afternoon an adult SHARPIE took up residence in the pear tree. Concealed by the leaves he would bide his time and then strike. I finally went out to "refresh" the feeders and flushed him. Everyone took advantage of the safety break and all the gang came in for lunch. I was sitting by the window bins in hand scanning the feeders and sky, suddenly a group of birds came over the house, over the trees and out of sight. EVENING GROSBEAKS! about 15-18. ( I knew I should have brought that new giant platform feeder home from work.)
