Today I spent 9-12 at the park, mostly hawkwatching. The highlights were: 1 Golden Eagle, adult (seen from a distance, but all the field marks were there) 2 Northern Harriers flying side-by-side, 1 gray ghost adult, 1 juvie-- great close up view! Other birds were-- Turkey Vulture- 80-100 Black Vulture- 13 Red-tail- 11 Red-Shoulder- 3 Sharpie- 2 Harrier- 3 total (ncluding the 2 mentioned above) All raptors and vultures were coming through above the ridge on the north side of the park, and some birds would disappear behind the ridge before I could ID them. I remember one kettle of 20+ birds, mostly vultures, which I didn't study in the distance because I was "sure" I would get a closer view. Ah, well..
