It was storing what appeared to be grubs and also excavating one hole. This is the location others apparently have seen this species recently. Later Iooked out my front window and was dumbfounded to see a juvenile Red-headed fly down to drink at my pool. This is 20 feet from the window, so I had a terrific look (with binoculars). The first time in 10 + years living here that this species has been seen. Are they coming back?
