This program is joint event of the Prince George's Audubon Society and the Patuxent Bird Clubs and will be held at Wakens Nature Center in Prince George's County. Mr. Blockstein is the Sr. Scientist for the National Council for Science and Chair of the Ornithological Council. He will talk about the life and death of this extinct bird and explain how and why it became extinct. He has also studied Mourning Doves, forest pigeons of Western Samoa, and the endangered Grenada Ground Dove. Watkins Nature Center is located in Watkins Regional Park. From the Washington Beltway take the MD 214 (Central Ave) east exit and turn right on MD 193, Watkins Park Drive. Follow to 3rd right turn and make a right into the park. Follow the park road until it comes to an intersection. Turn left and Park in the nature Center parking lot. I hope you can join us for this interesting program.
