MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi Folks, This afternoon at about 2 p.m., John Maloney found a single Bonaparte's Gull at Triadelphia Reservoir, sitting in the open water adjacent to the Pigtail inlet. He viewed it from the Greenbridge access. About an hour later, he and I went back to the reservoir, and viewed the gull from the boat ramp at Greenbridge. It was sitting on the water's edge on a spit of land to the right, on the Howard Co. side, a place where gulls frequently sit. The only other gulls present were a few Ring-bills. Other water birds seen at the reservoir were: Common Loon Am. Black Duck--16 (just west of the dam) Bufflehead--10 Hooded Merganser--5 SPOTTED SANDPIPER--one flying north up the middle of the lake The loon, buffleheads and hoodies were all near the north end of the lake. Sadly, there was no Long-tailed Duck in evidence. A pair of Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers were in trees near the water end of the pipeline trail in Montgomery Co.
