Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed Sorry for the late post. I had a meeting at Ocean City Monday, and I squeaked in some birding. At the Inlet (at sunrise), I found the Harlequin and a Long-tailed Duck amid the Surf Scoters. One Purple Sandpiper accompanied at least 27 Ruddy Turnstones. Two of the turnstones were so tame that they landed on the rocks near to me and walked to within six feet, casually feeding. An American Pipit hopped around the sandy area north of the motel, allowing wonderful looks. Later in the day, I took a little time to go to the Indian River inlet. Among the usual suspects, Northern Gannets, Forster's and Royal Terns put on quite a show. I found *three* Great Cormorants on the rock wall on the bay side, near the marina. Four Bonaparte's Gulls steadfastly resisted my turning one of them into a black-headed gull. A Black-bellied Plover flew past.
