Nothing too interesting other than a nice flock of 20+ American Pipits in the grass, good for DC. Also, a possibly wintering American Kestrel in the closed area beyond the barrier -- (this is closed, per NPS, due to dumping of contaminated dredge spoil by contractors who were *supposed* to be constructing a nice soccer field!. We were told we could go in there "unofficially" just to quickly check out the area, but official permission should be obtained for regular access. We are looking into this.)
