Lookout this afternoon to search for the Harris's Sparrow. Initially I didn't have any success. The wind was picking up and the birds were obviously hunkering down. Marty Cribb arrived and showed me the area where he had seen the bird in the morning. All was quiet. Not long after Marty left, I noticed some sparrows in the very small shrub islands just north of the restrooms. Feeding in the lawn among the Song and White-throated Sparrows was the Harris's Sparrow. I attempted to take videos, but the sun was behind the bird and the winds had become very strong. What I did get I have posted here: . I think most are clear enough to identify the bird as a Harris's. All of the photos are video captures. Digiscoping was just not possible with the wind and location of the birds. I might go back . Nice addition to my Maryland and St. Mary's lists. //////// Arlene Ripley | || Calvert County, MD | 0 || aripley@nestbox.com | || http://www.nestbox.com || ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
