His best bird - an immature NORTHERN GOSHAWK perched in and then flushed from a tree near the south end of the park. This is not the same Gos as we saw last week, as that was an adult. Other good finds included two Catbirds and a House Wren near the Anacostia. There were also quite a few sparrows, including about 8 Fox and 608 Savannah, but no "field birds" -- i.e., pipits or buntings. The gate was closed all morning (did someone forget to unlock it?) so he parked along Anacostia St. and walked in/ Gail Mackiernan and Barry Cooper Colesville, MD ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
