MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Dear Folks, While in NM photographing birds and I unknowingly received a virus last night on my laptop, which then sent itself out to every person in my list of e-mail addresses including the MDOSPEY and Delaware Birds! I had not had the most up to date virus definitions at the time (dumb). It is a new virus created on 11/24. I had to update my Norton definitions and do an all file scan to rid the computer of it. I suggest you all do the same. ****The scary thing is that I got this virus without opening any attachments!! It was an executable file imbedded in an e-mail!! Until last night I was under the impression that you had to actually open a file to get a virus but my friend, who is a big Intel exec, informs me that they are getting more sophisticated and now they can imbed them in the e-mail itself! Sorry for the inconvenience but I didn't do it! I don't understand why people need to do this sort of thing. It's pretty low! Here is a link for more info on the virus and how to get rid of it: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.badtrans.b@mm.ht ml Kindest Regards, Greg Downing ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
