Schwarz" Subject: A Late Great Egret in Howard County A single Great Egret was present at Centennial Park, Howard County, this afternoon (29 Nov, Thursday). A passerby, who asked what the bird was, said it had been present for four day. Jo Solem's Guide to bird finding in Howard County (published 1995) indicates 27 Nov as the late date for Great Egret in HowCo. Also present: Ring-necked Duck 3 males Lesser Scaup 5, 2 male, 3 female. These birds have been present since Sunday. Scaup and Ring-necks were on the main part of the lake, between boat ramp and dam. The egret was moving about in the wildlife management area at the west end of the lake.
