My father, Klaus, new to the internet and this list, has been carving realistic-looking songbirds in wood, since his retirement. Several sit on the inside windowsill. A group of bluebirds has repeatedly tried to fly through the window glass (gently) presumably to scare away these inanimate territory trespassers. He wants to encourage them to stay.
