Haines Point had no raptors and just common waterbirds. Georgetown Reservoir held one female Hooded Merganser, one male and one female Buffleheads, one female Canvasback, two Pied-billed Grebes, and over 50 Ring-necked Ducks. Also maybe 40 gulls. Roaches Run (Arlington Va.) held 12 to 15 Hooded Mergansers, fewer Buffleheads, Mallards, Pied-billed Grebes, Am. Coots, Belted Kingfisher. The marina cove south of Washington National Airport had an "armada" by comparison: Ruddy, Ring-necked, Black Ducks, Mallards, scaups, and a whole lot of American Coots. Also some gulls, an adult Red-tailed Hawk, a Belted Kingfisher, and two Bald Eagles, one of them an adult.
