We arrived at Ross Boddy about 7:30-7:45, and met (as I posted earlier) Stan Arnold and friend already looking at the bird. The WETA essentially fed non-stop on berries (and at least one insect I saw) for 45 minutes, showing very well. At about 8:30, it disappeared for about 10-15 minutes, then reappeared for about the same length of time, but was obviously feeding less actively. About then Norm, Fran, Rob and Rick arrived -- we had to leave but the bird reappeared for them in a few minutes, showed briefly and then disappeared again. I also heard that it was not seen after this time -- which would have been about 9:00 or maybe 9:15. Perhaps it is gone, perhaps it is only really active in early morning, it may even go to some other nearby area in midday. To make a long story short, it would seem that early am would be the best time to try and relocate the bird. If anyone goes to look and doesn't see the WETA, please post this as negative results are very helpful!
