Nothing much to report except a lack of waterfowl. Songbirds were of the normal variety - lots of chickadees, titmice, all woodpeckers but redheaded, only sparrows were white-throated and song. Here is a brief listing of some more notable birds: 4 wood ducks in small ponds just under and just east of Chain Bridge, 2 lesser scaup near Sycamore Island, 2 adult red-shouldered hawks, 1 sharp-shinned, 1 coopers and 2 red-tails in this area. Georgetown reservoir had 3 canvasback, 3 pied-billed grebe, 71 ring-neck ducks David Farner Audubon Naturalist Society ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
