Lets get a few things straight here, okay? I've said this MANY times before but I'll say it again for those of you who haven't been listening. No one except me, the list owner, has access to the names and e-mail addresses of subscribers to MDOsprey. Did I say it loud enough? Yes, the archives are open to the public and someone who really wants to go to that much trouble can get e-mail addresses of people who post by going through those archives. Nonetheless, I wouldn't have it any other way. If you don't like that the public can read your postings, then get off the list. To blame spam you are receiving on this list is both uninformed and downright ignorant. I currently pay in excess of $600 per year for the reliability, spam suppression, virus suppression and general overall quality of the listserv software and the listserv servers and I'm getting a little tired of people who don't know what they're talking about blaming their spam problems on this list. You want to cure spam? Cancel your ISP, pull the modem out of your computer, and stay off the internet. Do I have problems now and again? Yes, I have problems with subscribers from the very free services you seem to feel are superior to listserv--hotmail, yahoo, etc. etc. These "free" services are a constant source of frustration to ALL of the listserv list owners I converse with. If you think you can run a list from yahoo that is as reliable, as robust, and that provides the convenience of web-based archives and web-based account maintenance (for those who bother to learn how to do it), then by all means, be my guest. Perhaps I should begin charging for access to MDOsprey.
