My apologies to those of you who called or came by for a supposedly "guaranteed" sighting. The good news is that the owl returned to its former site yesterday (Thursday) evening. Maybe the previous night's strong winds persuaded it that a nice, sheltered tree cavity is really the best choice for a roost. My husband did take some nice photos of the bird last week, and I may post them somewhere. If you want to see the actual owl, please contact me first and I'll let you know if it's around.
