(Participants are welcome, we are a bit short-handed this year!) Along Oland Rd. (Sector 7), at least 3 Lapland Longspurs with Horned Larks, and we only were able to go through about 1/4 of the larks before something spooked them away. There were also 16 Tundra Swans in the fields at corner of Oland and Rt. 85 (NW corner). Along Nolan's Ferry Rd, just south of the water treatment plant, at least 12 White-crowned Sparrows with many other birds on both sides of the road in the hedgerow. (This is the border between Sectors 2 and 3.) Along Cap Stine Rd., north of Manor Woods, where the road turns sharply east and then north, in the scrubby field on the north side and right at the far eastern end of it, 5 American Tree Sparrows in the bramble. Field leading into the Christian Brothers Center held some Meadowlarks. Fair numbers of Redtails, Kestrels and a few other raptors throughout. Otherwise rather quiet -- we did not go into Lilypons itself due to lack of time, hopefully the Bitterns and some of the other goodies we saw last month have lingered.
