Not only is this happening on this list, but on all other > email coming in. I have configured the list such that attachments are not allowed. Therefore, if you are receiving messages which include attachments, they are NOT from the list. The one exception to this is that some brain-damaged e-mail software insists on sending html versions of a message as an attachment, along with a text version. I believe this is true of aol in particular, but I may be wrong about which company it is that is brain damaged. In any event, an html attachment of a text based message apparently can get past the "no attachments" configuration without causing any harm to you or your computer except letting you see each message twice. This is NOT the fault of the list or the list software, it is a problem with the way individual posters or their ISP's configure their e-mail program. E-mail should never contain HTML content--it is an incredible waste of bandwidth and of no use in clear communication. Do everything you can to turn off html encoding of your messages when posting to MDOsprey or change your ISP if they won't let you disable it. Now that I've alienated all the html lovers, let's get back to birds.
