MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Gail - I was one of several people searching for the Grebes from the various Horsehead viewpoints today (14 Jan), from around 10 until noon. They were not to be seen at that time. During that time, hunters were active in the duck blinds that can be seen from the canoe landing at the end of the Marshy Creek Trail, so if any Grebes had been around, they would not have stayed long. One hunter even came out in his boat and tried to chase the sea ducks over towards one of the blinds. Fortunately, the ducks flew elsewhere. After the morning try for the Western Grebes, including some looking along Rte 18 near the bridge, I went on over to Eastern Neck for the rest of the afternoon. At least three other birders were checking there for the Western Kingbird. And we demonstrated how easy it is to go 0 for 3 in seeking Western birds on the Eastern Shore. Perhaps others had better luck?
