In-Reply-To: Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed Hi Gail - Two data points ... On Sunday afternoon, several of us (including Jim Stasz, Mark and Amy Hoffman, and Stan Arnold) looked for the grebes at Horseheads and surrounding areas without success. (At that time, I think none of us knew that the birds had been reported earlier that morning). On Monday afternoon, I searched the area from about 2pm until 5pm, including Horseheads, the Log Cabin Road boat landing, the Marina, the Jetty, and under the bridge. Again, no luck. Marshall Iliff and George Jett were apparently behind me (in both time and geography) and they dipped, too. Danny Poet also scanned the jetty area with no luck. Best bird of the afternoon ... an adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL seen in the bay, northwest of the elevated observation tower that overlooks the bay. The Marina hosted only a pair of Pied-billed Grebes. Seen from the jetty ... a pair of Long-tailed Ducks, a Common Goldeneye, and a Surf Scoter.
