After it flew away, I investigated what it was picking at, and it looks like it got one of my feeder visitors. There are a bunch of small grey and white feathers strewn about on the ground. I suspect it got a junco, although it might have been one of the resident nuthatches (I hope not, but that's nature...). I had planned to post a few days ago, because on Saturday, I saw two Red Shouldered Hawks sitting on the wires about 1/2 mile apart on route 198 in Burtonsville (just a bit west of the town center). I could have sworn that they were both the same bird because they were in identical positions. Both were facing away from the road, and craning their necks in order to look straight down as if there was something good to eat right at their feet.
