MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hans Holbrook recently mentioned hearing about an Egypt Road sighting of a Barnacle Goose on Jan 12th. I was in the parking lot of the Blackwater Refuge Visitor Center when a couple, from Maryland, were describing the sighting. I got the distinct impression that the people doing the reporting were familiar with Maryland Birds and Birding, so I have been hoping they would give their report here. Their description of the sighting was clear and sounded unambiguous. In view of the recent comments about how special such a sighting is, I continue to hope that they will step forward with a report. As for us, after the parking lot discussion, we drove up Egypt Road is search of the bird (or birds - I thought they had seen more than one) - but had no luck. By the time we reached the area where the birds had been, there were no birds there.
