I am sure MOS members would be a little more open to the idea if the Sundays were not during the Christmas Bird Count season. I am not opposed to hunting, just the addition of Sundays. Can you tell me what percent of the funds that manage these Wildlife Management Areas come from hunting funds? I suspect it is not 100 percent. Multi use of natural areas is the way of the future. If your opinion is the same as most hunters, than it sounds like these areas should only be used for hunting. I believe we need to control the deer population, but three Sundays won't be enough. If three Sundays go through, next it will be every Sunday. One problem with the current hunting practices of some hunters is that they only want a buck with a trophy rack. Passing on smaller deer or smaller antler sizes and waiting for that "Trophy Buck" may contribute to fewer deer being taken. I don't recall seeing you at a State MOS Board meeting when this subject has come up for discussion in the past to suggest working with hunting groups on such issues. Perhaps you should make your thoughts know to your local MOS Chapter board representatives so they can bring your ideas to the Board, or volunteer yourself to help with such a project.
