Highlights were a Golden Eagle on Egypt Road along with large numbers of American Pipits and the Brown-headed Nuthatches in their usual spot on the Marsh Trail. Skip Nelson had given us a preview of Eastern Neck and the Forster's Tern he saw was still cooperating by hanging out at the bridge. There were 9 killdeer all lined up in a row on the sandbar near the bridge, looking like they were ready to lead a parade. We were surprised by the lack of ducks at Blackwater in particular and the horned larks were in ones and twos instead of the flocks I'm used to. We missed the Western Kingbird and the ranger said it had not been seen for several days. Below is our list for the day.
