I did have a single male PURPLE FINCH that kept me company at the feeders during my confinement. Looking around in my atlas block today I found my first EASTERN PHOEBE of 2002. There were a few ducks , the highlights being a pair each of NORTHERN PINTALS, GREEN-WINGED TEAL, HOODED MERGANSERS and 36 AMERICAN BLACK DUCKS. A single (where were his friends??) AMERICAN PIPIT, 4 KILLDEER and every BLACKBIRD in the piedmont. Lots of singing going on with RED-WINGS on territory and CHICKADEES and TITMICE vocalizing up a storm. Now the important stuff: AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS -8 SAVANNAH- 6 SWAMP- 6 FIELD -12 SONG- 60 Bonnie Ott (field trip chair) Ellicott city, Howard County Maryland bonnie1163@home.com ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
