In general, it was very quiet. Just not much bird noise. Some common species were in very low numbers - 0 Titmice, 0 Kinglets, 1 Red-Belly, 1 Downy, 2-3 White-Throats. Yet, I wound up with 37 species, a decent January total. To do that I came up with some good birds - 2 Palm Warbler (1st Jan record and 2nd winter record for my homelist); 1 Swamp Sp (1st Jan record - at least one decided to winter in the grasses in cutoff woods); Pileated Wood (2nd yard record, distinct from the larger 1 mile circle). Plus 1 adult Bald Eagle, 1 male Harrier and the year's first Ring-Billed Gull and first Pigeon! Woohoo :) Good Birding, Glen Lovelace III Seaford, DE ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
