Especially, during humid or wet conditions. On Sunday, I birded Grove Neck in southern Cecil County and heard Pickerel Frogs singing. I then went to Bethel WMA and saw what appeared to be a Red Bellied Turtle sunning on a log. It seems with this weather, anything is possible. Parke. I realize that this is a bit off topic, but... Today, 30 January 2002 at 4:15 p.m. I heard two separate Spring Peepers calling. This was at Font Hill Park, in Ellicott City, Howard County. I expect to hear Peepers on a warm day in November, December, and by late February, full choruses. But on 30 Jan?!?!?!? Also of note, I saw a yard on Constitution Avenue in Northeast D.C. on 24 January full of blooming crocus.
