In flight the bird reminded me of my lifer at Conowingo during the Slaty-back craze. I never got great looks at the bird sitting, but I still feel confident of the identification. Talking with Marshall, I do not feel that this was his mystery bird from last week. Also at the landfill today was the token 1st year Glaucous Gull (state bird 327 for me). This bird was not at all shy and let me get very close to it. The Lessers broke down as follows: 3 first-winter, 2 second-winter, 1 third-winter, and 3 adults. There was also a first winter Lesser roosting with the gulls at Tanyard for a Caroline County bird.
