As my husband put it, "Can't they learn any other notes?!!?" Admit it, folks, isn't birdsong sometimes annoying? A couple of years ago my children came home with a song that repeated the phrase "beans and cornbread". After a few hours of this I was going nuts. For some peace and quiet I went out to fill the bird feeders. But no relief, the titmice were tweetling their four note - beans-and-corn-bread, over and over again. I always welcome the sound of the first House Wren in our yard every spring. But then they don't shut up for months!
