Big year contenders take note: we now have 176 species and 42.3% of the state list ticked for the year! This is 4 over last year's total. Many thanks to L Roslund, H Armistead and D Spiker/F Pope. Most interesting observation: A Ruffed Grouse reported by Harry Spiker via Fran Pope. Harry is radio-tracking RUGR for DNR as part of a multi-state study. He said January is one of the two hardest months to find them--October is the other. Thanks to Fran Pope for passing along the note and Harry's comment.
