Frederick Cty -- Monacy Battlegrounds MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Just starting to bird in this area after moving in very late December -- today we went to the Monacy Battlegrounds at the corner of MD355 and Ball Road. The area just off the parking lot along the trail and stream walking toward the Monacy River was full of birds. the highlights were one BROWN CREEPER, at least two Belted Kingfishers, and many Golden Crown Kinglets, but there were many more of the typical residents than we have seen almost anywhere else this winter. Our pond in Monrovia has had two Mute Swans for the past week along with several Canada Geese. Today we had two Ring-necked Ducks.
