Maybe it will be a regular for a while. Speaking of which, the female Canvasback was back with the Ring-necked Ducks at Georgetown Reservoir today. Last Sunday, I didn't see any Canvasbacks at the reservoir, but I did see a female Canvasback with 3 male Ring-necks near National Airport. Makes you wonder. Otherwise, the birding was fairly slow today -- maybe because, having caught Barnacle Goose fever at Cameron Run yesterday, I spent so much time looking closer than usual at flocks of geese! Nothing but Canadas today, but I did manage to find two DC year birds: Eastern Phoebe and Hermit Thrush, both at the National Arboretum.
