The House Wren persists in the back yard in Catonsville (Balto County) = as of yesterday. It looks healthy and happy. On Sunday Brian Monk and I made a briefish tour of the waterfowl spots = in eastern Baltimore County. Highlights included 15,000 scaup (mostly = lessers) in the mouth of Back River, along with about 1,000 Canvasbacks = and 500 Ruddy Ducks. There was also an adult DC Cormorant on the dock at = the end of Miller's Island Road. There were 1,500 Ruddy Ducks in Edgemere. There was a flock of 15 American Tree Sparrows just before the causeway = on Carroll Island Road and 4 Mute Swans (lowlight) at the bridge. At Marshy Point Park there was the usual congregation of waterfowl, = including 73 Tundra Swans, 18 Mute Swans, 75 American Wigeon and a = smattering of Gadwall and Hooded Mergansers and one Northern Shoveler.=20 Eirik A.T.
