Also, how about the 4-letter, 1-numeral code to do away with the collisions that the banding codes would generate? CAWR1 is Cactus Wren, CAWR2 is Canyon Wren, and CAWR3 is Carolina Wren. (With these you don't have to memorize all the special case designators buried in the banding codes.) What fun!
