That's a DC first for me and a 2002 Comp List bird to boot. Also in the Fletcher's Boathouse / Chain Bridge area were 5 Belted Kingfishers, 3 Winter Wrens, and 2 Black Vultures. A pair of Wood Ducks were in the Roosevelt Island swamp. Last stop was the boat launch at the Washington Sailing Marina (south of National Airport). Bufflehead were out on the river, 1 Lesser Scaup was hanging out with the coots, and a Bald Eagle flew in and landed near the airport runway light structure. The first stop of the morning had been Battery Kemble Park. Nothing unusual seen, but the birds were really singing.
