Even though the weather is gorgeous, I decided to lay low and sew. I was taking a break from sewing and looked out the window. One of our bird baths is a cut-down over turned roof of an old Volkwagon Beetle. Seems odd, but the birds seem to prefer it to the more traditional baths in our yard. Right now it's nearly empty with soggy leaves in the bottom and only a bit of water. When I looked out, I saw a House Wren splashing about in the water. While House Wrens are common at my mom's house in the city of Annapolis, I seldom get them down here in Harwood. The little wren was having quite a good time splashing water and rooting through the leaves. It makes the chickadees and gold finches look like giants.
