Three fighter planes twice passed over Roosevelt Island at low altitude following the landing approach to Reagan National Airport. A highlight of the walk included a pair of Wood Ducks, with the drake displaying extremely vivid and defined colors. Birds observed included: Canada Goose Mallard Duck Wood Duck Great Blue Heron Turkey Vulture Ring-billed Gull Mourning Dove Rock Dove Downy Woodpecker American Crow Carolina Chickadee Tufted Titmouse White-breasted Nuthatch Brown Creeper Carolina Wren Warblers (possible Orange-crowned) - 2 Northern Cardinal Song Sparrow (singing) White-throated Sparrow Fox Sparrow Dark-eyed Junco American Goldfinch Tom Marko Olney, MD MOS-MCC tlmarko@us.med.navy.mil ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
