It was a classic = chocolate brown bird with buff panels in the upperwing coverts, buffy = undertail coverts, black terminal tail band on a gray tail (couldn't = make out the fine dark bands in the tail), and a buffy nape shawl. The = bird never flapped its wings in the strong NW breeze, just a couple of = flexes to take advantage of the updraft coming up off the woods at the = back of a field. Other sightings snatched from the car seat included = ca2000 Snow Geese and a young Bald Eagle near Kingstown before noon as I = departed for the west.
