A fleeting flyover male RED-BREASTED MERGANSER was unfortunately seen by only a few (and did not have the good graces to stay on the lake. ) An EASTERN PHOEBE may have been a new arrival or maybe the wintering bird seen in a few times over the winter. A couple YELLOW-RUMPS gave us nice looks but a skulking WINTER WREN was only noted by his little double chip. A single HERMIT THRUSH was also playing hide and seek but a delightful "flock" of CARDINALS was a sight with 20+ individuals feeding together on the mown field.
