Any advice would be appreciated. > Dear Norm and all Birders, The University of Maryland Central Farm is PRIVATE PROPERTY!!! Birding there is not permitted for a number of factors. There is managed huntings, seasonal spraying, livestock areas (which are restricted for fear of disease) ect. ect. The Howard county bird club went through much time and effort with the management of the farm to get access for counts, surveys and limited field trips. There are certain Howard members that have access and we posses signed permission letters to be on the property. There is a policy we must follow of checking in and out each time we visit. Last time I was there I was stopped and "checked" by the staff.
