It will be at 7 p.m. at the USFWS National Conservation and Training Center (NCTC). In case you missed this in our newsletter, this new documentary on Alaska's Wrangell-St. Elias National Park is a visually stunning film that premiered at the National Geographic Society as an Earthwatch Award winner. The soundtrack was composed by Academy Award winner Todd Boekelheide and was recorded by a studio orchestra drawn from the San Francisco Symphony. The Pulitzer Prize-winning author of "Coming Into the Country" and many other books, John McPhee has recently sent John (Grabowska) a personal note about how much he liked the film, so you can't miss it!! !Bien hecho, Juan! To find out more go to www.earthwatch.org and enter "film awards" in their search engine. Enjoy! Don't forget PVAS' Wednesday (3/13/02) evening's meeting is at 7:30 at NCTC with naturalist and ornithologist Scott Weidensaul presenting a program about "The Ghost with Trembling Wings: The Search for Lost Species."
