We were on a short walk ... on the river's eastern shore. My (novice birder) partner called out "Great Blue" .....there was indeed a Great Blue flying about 100 yards away about 40 feet in the air, but above and behind it some 30 yards was the Sandhill. The contrast made ID easy, the latter's neck extended fully, relatively slim in relation to the Great Bue. They were heading slowly northwards. We watched the two until they were out of sight ... I've seen Sandhills a handful of times in Michigan, Colorado and one in Pennsylvania ... If you need anything additional, just let me know."
